Provides terminology and translation services to businesses/groups in partnership with approved suppliers. Conducts terminology research (establishment of terms specific to a field of activity, definition of terms) on current texts, guaranteeing the quality and uniformity of translation products.
$37,500.00 - $69,500.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.

Provides terminology and translation services to businesses/groups in partnership with approved suppliers. Conducts terminology research (establishment of terms specific to a field of activity, definition of terms) on current texts, guaranteeing the quality and uniformity of translation products.
- Translates business materials from English to French and/or French to English, maintaining alignment with Bank standardized terminology.
- Monitors and manages communication and translation requests in a responsive timely matter.
- Supports the coordination of employee communications vehicles and events (e.g., newsletters, events, galas).
- Manages a database of archived copies of translated files (source-language files; original and revised translation files).
- Maintains consistency within communications by reinforcing national standards for templates and procedures.
- Ensures quality standards are met by proofreading, producing, and delivering final versions of documents.
- Acts as point of contact for internal stakeholders who require translation services.
- Mitigates reputation risks related to language issues, acting in line with BMO's intent to comply with Quebec's legislation.
- Completes complex & diverse tasks within given rules/limits and may include handling escalations from other employees.
- Analyzes issues and determines next steps.
- Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications: - Typically between 2 - 3 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study desirable or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Bilingual in French & English.
- In-depth experience of translation services procedures and practices.
- In-depth knowledge of common desktop environment of translation services (Microsoft Office, FileMaker Pro, etc. ).
- Specialized knowledge.
- Verbal & written communication skills - Good.
- Organization skills - Good.
- Collaboration & team skills - Good.
- Analytical and problem solving skills - Good.
