Proposal Specialist
Location: Remote, Canada-Wide

Position Overview:

The IT Proposal Specialist will take end-to-end ownership of assigned IT services proposals. They will review and evaluate RFPs, select and manage response teams, independently write high-quality, nearly fully finished complex technical proposals, submit proposals on time, create elegant and compelling proposal presentations, be accountable for the quality and timeliness of deliverables, and complete proposals-related administrative tasks. They will achieve target win rates.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Take end-to-end ownership of assigned IT services proposals
  • Review and evaluate RFPs
  • Select and manage internal and partner response teams
  • Use prior industry knowledge, education, and internal and external research to independently write high-quality, nearly fully finished complex technical proposals
  • Customize pre-written content to fit the context
  • Help maintain the content repository
  • Create elegant and compelling proposal presentations
  • Produce timely, clear, compliant, complete, and compelling deliverables
  • Complete proposals-related administrative tasks
  • Achieve target win rates
  • Occasionally help with special projects across the organization


Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in IT proposal writing and management for North American clients in the public sector
  • Post-secondary education or professional technical certifications in IT
  • Prior technical knowledge of IT concepts and services

Technical Knowledge:

  • Familiar with concepts such as public sector procurement, RFP lifecycle, IT procurement, IT services and delivery models, bid qualification, sales enablement, pricing models, proposal presentations, and contract reviews and negotiations.
  • Understanding of technology concepts such as end user computing, networks, servers, storage, cloud, security, and AI.

  • Exceptional organizational skills, very high attention to detail, excellent writing and language skills, and high standards for quality of work.
  • Deliverables are timely, clear, compliant, complete, and compelling.
  • Working individually, they are creative, resourceful, independent, proactive, organized, technology-savvy, and continuously improving.
  • Working with people, they are confident, responsive, articulate, problem-solving, calm, friendly, flexible, and helping.


Work Conditions:

This role can be fulfilled remotely from anywhere in Canada with good internet connectivity and a distraction-free environment for working at home. Work hours will need to match business hours in the Pacific Time Zone. The role requires flexibility in work hours to accommodate client proposal deadlines.

Applicants will be asked to provide references and may be asked to participate in a short writing and technical assessment.
