Department Overview
Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) is responsible for building organizational capability in managing risk on a more integrated and comprehensive basis for the organization and for promoting a strong risk culture within TD. The team is accountable for the development and implementation of an enterprise risk management strategy, governance, policies and practices, reporting and operating frameworks, and operations associated with the Risk Management function.
TD applies the "Three Lines of Defence" model to risk management as defined in the Enterprise Risk Framework. As part of the second line of defence, the ERM team assures the appropriate design, implementation, and/or execution of (applicable components of) the TD risk management framework.
ERM collaborates with a broad network of business and risk management practitioners and other corporate functions in all jurisdictions where the Bank has business activities
Job Description
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Enterprise Risk Management, this role will foster a strong, reliable and sustainable governance and control environment within ERM. This role has primary accountability over the Enterprise Risk Acceptance activities while supporting execution of other initiatives across ERM as assigned.
As the lead for the Risk Acceptance management, monitoring and reporting, this role will work closely with the U.S. ERM and various stakeholders across the Bank to support the execution and delivery of various aspects activities of risk acceptance that including the following:
The candidate will work collaboratively with different stakeholders across the Bank to provide effective support and manage additional responsibilities as may be necessary.
This position will appeal to an individual who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, has well developed analysis and communication skills, is prepared to take on new challenges, can deliver a high level of professionalism, and can work well independently and with the broader team. The successful candidate will gain an enterprise-wide perspective of TD and exposure to numerous risk, business and corporate function groups.

- Oversee the Enterprise Risk Acceptance Database to safeguard the integrity of the data, including periodic access management, user attestation, version control etc.
- Lead and execute ongoing monitoring of risk acceptance using appropriate methodology and sampling techniques to support sufficiency of review coverage and effectiveness of testing
- Escalate issues and concerns related to risk acceptance as needed and work with ERM and/or stakeholders for resolution
- Conduct effective testing of the database updates to ensure the system is current and continue to operate as expected
- Own and maintain procedures and templates that support Risk Acceptances
- Define and execute against the roadmap for onboarding Risk Acceptance to Merlin
- Execute required actions to refresh the Risk Acceptance Standard on a periodic basis and ensure appropriate stakeholder engagement, feedback actioning, and facilitate review and approval
- Identify and provide ongoing training to various stakeholders on risk acceptance as well as on database usage
- Provide appropriate and effective stakeholder communication
- Oversee end to end periodic reporting of risk acceptances including engaging and managing communication with stakeholders; resolving issues and questions; providing guidance of risk acceptance and reporting requirements, executing quality control activities to support completeness and accuracy of reporting; and preparing Executive Committee presentations, review and approval.

Job Requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including writing concise business documents, creating impactful presentations, and presenting analysis to management
- 4+ years' experience in a control function (Risk Management/Audit/Compliance) preferred
- Strong MS skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Demonstrated project/process management skills, including developing and tracking to established timelines
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Self-starter with the ability to learn and adapt quickly
- Proven ability to work with and build relationships with stakeholders
- Ability to connect-the-dots to engage the right partners
- Ability to use influencing skills to implement change is an asset
- Enjoys working in a team environment but also able to work independently
