Position Summary
Northern Health is seeking a dedicated Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) Administrator to enhance clinical laboratory operations by maximizing the efficiency of our clinical information systems. You will collaborate with laboratory staff and other stakeholders to evaluate, design, develop, test, implement, and train on LIS, ensuring effective system operations and providing regional support.
The Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) Administrator possesses an in-depth knowledge of laboratory processes, workflows and practices in order to maximize the use of clinical information systems. The role is a champion for electronic medical records / health records. They collaborate with laboratory staff and others in the evaluation, design, development, testing, implementation, changes and training of LIS. They also provide LIS regional support for incidents and problems, and ensure effective operations of the system, and participate as key members of LIS related projects.
Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Monday to Friday, Days - 08:00 to 16:00
This position's location is flexible to any community in British Columbia.

Qualfications
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology program (General)
• Certified and registered as a CSMLS with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science
• Four (4) years recent experience comprised of:
oTwo (2) years recent related experience in a Laboratory department;
oTwo (2) years recent related experience developing, implementing, maintaining and/or supporting clinical Laboratory Information Systems (LIS);
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships with diverse groups.
• Ability to coordinate and oversee the work of others.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to analyze and deal with problems.
• Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability in changing environments.
• Good judgment skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and on concurrent, multidisciplinary projects.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work.
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office software and working knowledge of operating systems and clinical systems.
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
• Ability and willingness to travel regionally and provincially.
