Job Description

Our Real Property & Workplace Services department is looking for a collaborative and responsive individual to join their team as a Facilities Assistant. You'll be part of a dynamic team who is responsible for real estate and space accommodation, infrastructure planning, and operations management to all our offices throughout the province.

This is a temporary role for 8-month duration.

Where you'll work
In this role, you'll work in our Richmond office five days a week.

As a Facilities Assistant you will:
  • Handle divisional financial aspects, including compliance, invoice coding, approvals, cost tracking, reporting, and budget administration
  • Participate in budget creation, analysis, forecasting, tracking, and report production
  • Handle procurement and purchasing processes, including intake forms, preparing requisitions, and tracking purchase orders and invoices
  • Monitor and maintain contracts, ensuring compliance
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders including managers, employees, contractors, and suppliers to support project management and other duties
  • Provide back-up relief support for the RPWS Workplace Services Desk, responding to phone and in-person inquiries.
  • Consistently models the appropriate level of organizational behaviours expected of all WorkSafeBC employees: responsive, respectful, fair, collaborative, accountable, and forward thinking.
We're looking for someone who can:
  • Work independently, coordinate and prioritize a wide variety of tasks to ensure accuracy and meet strict deadlines
  • Establish positive and cooperative working relationships with management, co-workers, and internal and external stakeholders in sometimes difficult or sensitive circumstances
  • Communicate with stakeholders in a positive, empathetic, courteous, and respectful manner
  • Recognize and evaluate problems, assess available information, and use sound judgment in taking appropriate actions
Your background and experience
  • A minimum of grade 12
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel

Our benefits

You will receive 4% in lieu of your benefits and 4% in lieu of your vacation.

Salary: $28.07 - $31.03/hourly
